Our nest boxes offer the ability to mount egg collection trays on either the front or rear side of the nest.
Hinged Back
Access nest box from outside your coop: collect eggs, exclude hens, lift roost bar, and latch optional AutoRoost.
Extended Pad - (NXT V5.2)
All HenGear nest boxes include a brown pad that extends fully into the collecting area, ensuring eggs are kept safe and clean, compared to wire floor designs.
Roost Bar
To keep your nest pad clean, the roost bar can be raised to exclude hens from the box after the eggs have been collected, thus preventing manure build-up from hens sleeping in the box overnight.
Tray Curtain
Our exclusive black curtain provides a barrier between the collection tray and nesting area, safeguarding eggs from determined egg-eating hens.
Privacy Curtain

Product is great. UPS shipping not so great. Item arrived a little damaged, but nothing some pliers counldn’t fix.
Excellent product
Looks good so far. Went together well and is well built. I made some modifications to fit my coop, but that was going a little above to seal things a little better for the cold Ohio winters. Had one hen lay an egg in the box the second day and hopefully the rest will start to follow soon.

I could not have assembled without your video! The video was made well and I understood every detail. The box has only been in the coop 2 days so waiting for them to try it out. I still have a few other nesting boxes to remove then I'm hoping they will use it.

Rollout nest box is good quality with very good directions to put it together. Our flock adapted to it well in just a few days. Works very well. We set it up with the rear access and without the front perch as it seemed to be in the way in our setup.
Works great in our smaller coops. Chickens seem to love it, and eggs stay clean! Easy to install, not too bad to put together either. Plan on purchasing more.
My hens took to it fast and we have never had cleaner eggs!
Brice - the You Tube video was a great help during the assembly process. I spent a rainy day building the nesting box with the video. Still in construction stage of the coop - put the roof on today. Chickens are not arriving until mid May.

We love the HenGear nest box soooo much! Thank you for sharing your products and I’m so glad I found your product. All in all it's working very well. But the instructions have some room for improvements. That being said the hens have adapted to there new accommodations very well. Except for a young hen that has recently starting to lay. But she is getting better at it. Most of all. I'm not finding any more half eaten eggs. 👍

This is a wonderfully designed and manufactured product! I found it easy and rewarding to assemble (super fun, actually!) Following the tips for getting the hens used to it, I started with it down low, sitting in a couple of bricks, and taped the red “privacy curtains” up so they could see in and notice the fake egg. They took to it right away! I got a bit ahead of myself and let the curtains back down a bit too soon (maybe within the week?), and discovered I’d rushed things: some of the hens started laying out in the yard. Put the fake egg back in and taped the curtains up and they all happily resumed laying in the box. I am over the moon to have the eggs protected from my would-be egg-eating hen! Now I don’t have to worry about whether she’ll teach the others her bad behavior - this has stopped her. And even in wet weather, all the eggs are clean and dry - no poopy little chicken feet walk on them once they’ve rolled down into the bunker!

We built a coop few years ago and bought the bigger nest boxes and our chickens absolutely love them! When we started our breeding program I knew i wanted these nest boxes in the coops. Assembly was straightforward. The website videos helped on a few questions. Hens adjusted very quickly. I really like the rear access for gathering eggs. Unfortunately they still are sleeping in the nest.

The thing I like most is clean eggs every day! The second best thing is the hens just use it without any issues.

Excellent roll away nest box! I have purchased multiple larger boxes and they work flawlessly. The new box appears to have a few upgrades and should work even better!

Easy to put together. I have a flock of pullets, so I have had some difficulty getting them to lay their eggs in the nesting box. For the most part, all I did was put their eggs in the nesting box when they would deposit them on the ground, after a few days of that, 95% of the eggs were in the box. I still have 2 Americana pullets that aren't laying yet, the one that is laying still hasn't made it into the nesting box yet - when she lays an egg.

This is a great nest box! I still have hens that break eggs because they figured out they can fit their head into where the eggs roll into so thats been fun haha! Still have less breakage using this though. At least they cant sit on the eggs anymore. It took my flock a few months to adjust and i still have two hens that refuse to use it and lay in the old spot. Haha!

This is my second HenGear Nest Box. I truly love these boxes! The eggs are clean and there is no more egg eating. Win win! I have a flock of middle-aged hens. Converting older hens over to these new boxes has been a process. To make all my stubborn hens happy I reluctantly changed the HenGear nest pad to a DIY pad made with PetSafe turf from Home Depot. Yup, I am a softy. 🙄 It’s worth the effort! If you are on the fence just give these a try. I believe you will love them as much as I do.
