This is my second hand gearbox. Only have about 20 chickens it was sufficient. But we kind of had a bunch of broody hens who monopolize the box. I added a second and production of eggs doubled. Great quality easy to put together. Our first one was 5 years ago and still looks fantastic give it a five-star

These egg mats are exactly what I needed for our egg boxes. We constructed homemade rollaway boxes and I struggled to find a nesting pad that would cushion the eggs but that would also allow the eggs to roll easily and have easy clean up. The HenGear mats solved that problem!
Eggs are clean as a whistle!! The girls are still getting used to it, but everyday I find more eggs in there. (20 hens but some "retired")

Just finished the Chicken Hotel and I am very happy with the upcoming of the project. The Nest is fantastic and can’t wait to get the chickens now. I might build a second one after all. Very Happy with this Nest.

We already love our large nesting box and know the heating mat will be a godsend during the winter. We went through our first winter in the Midwest and learned very quickly how badly we needed thus after losing many cracked eggs due to freezing. I can’t wait to ensure we have year-round eggs with our new mat!

we already had a coop with nesting boxes with homemade rollaway ramps but we needed a better Matt for the eggs to roll freely. We just put this one in and we're gonna put it in all of our other ones because the egg sits on the top instead of sinking in to the nap of the indoor outdoor carpet
Still taking a little bit, but 10 chickens are accustomed lay eggs now in it. I purchased two of them

I was impressed that the cables to hook up one solar panel to two roost bar releases were included. It is like you people read my mind perfectly! The only annoyance I encountered was on the mounting bracket that screws to the solar panel, I had to grind a bit on the bracket to get the screws to fit properly.

Product is great. UPS shipping not so great. Item arrived a little damaged, but nothing some pliers counldn’t fix.

It took a few days for the girls to adjust to it. Now they are loving it. I have a few girls being rebellious laying some eggs on the floor. I think it’s because they’re using it as a two nesting box so I purchased a second one and when I get home, I’ll have two of the medium ones and I think that will fix the problem. Yesterday My Wife got nine eggs out of one box clean not dirty. I would highly recommend purchasing one of these they are well built and of course I got the 3.0 rose bar, automatic, raiser, and lowering device.

These mounts are easy to place & make it easy to hang the nest boxes. I have found having a third in the middle has helped support the boxes as we have a lot of birds and they always seem to have a favorite nesting box they pile in.

I have been seeing ads for these nest boxes for a couple of years... I thought they were too expensive and couldn't really make that much of a difference... after getting only 12-15 eggs from 30+ hens, I did the math.... if they are really eating 6-12 eggs a day, I could pay it off in 10-12 weeks. we bought our 1st Hengear next box and we're getting 20-26 eggs a day. Our ladies were eating all our profits! We have not had to do anything to entice our girls to use the new box. They took to it immediately. we have now put 7 boxes in place. This one in the video is with our newest young ladies and they are using it without hesitation. Thank you Hengear for making such a quality, American made product.

I haven’t had a cracked egg since I set it up. Was averaging3/5 chipped/ broke/consumed eggs a day. It’s been two weeks all eggs are clean and no breaks! I couldn’t recommend this product enough! Thanks

My only critique is the assembly instructions are vague and less than intuitive. The pictures did not accurately represent the parts, but thankfully, being an architect, I was able to figure it out. The laying coop works wonderfully, though I did add a foam strip at the bottom of slope to prevent breakage.

Looks good so far. Went together well and is well built. I made some modifications to fit my coop, but that was going a little above to seal things a little better for the cold Ohio winters. Had one hen lay an egg in the box the second day and hopefully the rest will start to follow soon.

Love it! I had a rough go at first switching the girls they did not like it and did some adjustments and they seem to be getting used to it. they love trying to roost on top of it and on the metal box part even if I flip the bar up at night. I wish the roll out part for the eggs was just a little bit deeper for the eggs to roll back I’ve watched a couple hens reach their head under and pull the eggs back and sit on them but over all it’s kept my hens from just sitting in the nesting boxes on eggs and leaving no room for other hens , so I will be definitely adding one more to the coop in the future!

The nesting box in and of itself is fabulous. It’s a quality product. It was fairly easy to construct with one minor exception. First I was building to collect eggs outside the coop. The issue has to do with putting on the top. The 3/8” screws are not long enough. The instructions addresses the issue and provides recommendations. Take my advice, same the time go to Lowe’s or wherever and by longer screws like #8-32 by 1 inch. The increased length allows you to work around the problem. Hen Gear knowing the issue exist should provide the screws. Beyond that singular annoyance it took me about an hour and a half to put the box together.

Love it! The ladies warmed up to it pretty quickly. We had some egg eaters (both hens and dogs) and they constantly trashed the nests - so we had very few eggs left at the end of the day, and what was left was always dirty. Since installing, we've had more eggs than ever and they're clean! Simple to assemble and well worth the money. So glad to have found this.

I could not have assembled without your video! The video was made well and I understood every detail. The box has only been in the coop 2 days so waiting for them to try it out. I still have a few other nesting boxes to remove then I'm hoping they will use it.

We love it and so do our feather babies. We do recommend watching the video, that way you can stop and rewind if needed. We had no problems at all and the girls took to it right away. Makes our coup look so much nicer.
