How It Works
- Install AutoRoost, Spring, & Bracket to your nest box.
- Connect the power cord to a standard 120V electrical outlet or purchase the optional 12V Solar Panel (sold separately).
- After collecting eggs each day, raise the roost bar on your nest to keep hens from nesting overnight & creating a manure mess. Once the roost is lifted, the bracket will firmly attach to the AutoRoost due to its powerful magnet.
- Sleep-in! Your nest box is open and ready for your hens to start laying clean & unbroken eggs.

Nice product
Love it, works as expected
I love it, this is my second nest and I love all of the clean eggs
Our chickens took to it right away. The day after installing it there were eggs in the egg box. Happy to have clean eggs!
Since we had previously built our own rollout nest box, I contacted you asking for the installation manual to see if we could adapt the 2.0 model to our setup. You graciously provided it and after seeing it, we decided we could make it work. We ordered it and installed it a few days ago. Our girls are just starting to lay and we love not having to brave the freezing temps to open the perch up! With this huge storm bearing down on us, we are especially grateful! Thank you for your great customer service and a great product!

I ordered the AutoRoost 2.0 and the solar panel along with a large 48” HenGear rollout nest box to replace a standard non-rollout box. Previously, I always had 4 or 5 hens out of 35 that would compete every evening to roost in the old nest boxes, always creating a mess. After adding the AutoRoost 2.0 and solar panel, the roosting in the nest box has been eliminated. And, best of all, I am not out there at the coop every morning at 5am manually lowering the roost bar. I would highly recommend these add-ons to the rollout nest box. I am very happy with the products.

Easy to install, had to watch the video to get the timer set. But just needed a visual to get er done. The release Works every time. Thank you. Would recommend this product. We had removed this laying box last summer because one of the hens was sleeping in the box and making a huge mess. Now they can’t sleep in it.

for some reason the first Autoroost wouldn't work but as soon as I let them know they sent me another one and it is working great. All the hens are using the nest box and so far there have been no broken or poopy eggs. couldn't be happier

We recently purchased a HenGear Nesting Box for our newly consolidated chicken coop, which we built out of a shipping container. After seeing how well it worked, we didn’t hesitate to buy a second one. We’ve merged three small coops into this larger setup and currently have about 50 chickens, with plans to add another 50 later this year. These two nesting boxes should be more than sufficient to meet the needs of our growing flock. So far, our pullets and hens are taking well to the boxes. The design really helps keep the eggs clean and collecting them has never been easier. It's clear that a lot of thought went into the usability and practicality of these boxes. All the tips and FAQs really helped to get the hens laying in the right spot! We’re also looking forward to using the Autoroost 2.0 as soon as we get electricity into the container. A few of our birds have a habit of hanging out in dark corners, so we’re hopeful this feature will help encourage better roosting behavior. Overall, we’re very pleased—not only with the functionality of the product but also with the opportunity to support an Indiana-based company. Highly recommend HenGear to anyone looking to upgrade their poultry setup.

The automatic nesting box opener was a bit tricky to install but the instructions were good and I got it done. I am so happy to not have to get up early to open the nesting box. It works perfect.
Once I figured it out it worked perfectly fine. Does exactly what it is supposed to do. I will say the directions , instructions and pictures were a bit confusing but again I was able to figure it out. My hens are using the box and the perch drops down when it is supposed to. Thanks KW

The AutoRoost 2.0 is working great! I have some pullets that keep trying to sleep in the nest box so this helps to keep them out at night.

So nice having an automatic roost release to open early. Works perfectly. There was a hiccup with my first one but they made sure to make it right an sent a new one right out. Very awesome customer service,awesome company!
I simply cannot say enough about Brice, his team, and the product! I initially had an issue with the auto-roost not working...instead of wasting time with emails back and forth, Brice called me directly and helped me problem solve. They ended up sending me a whole new auto-roost unit and everything is perfect! Now about the nest box. We used to use buckets with straw...eggs were dirty, some hens would lay on the ground, in the feed bins, it was a mess. Within two days of raising the nest box off the ground, every single hen lays in the Hengear nest box, and the eggs are pristine! Being able to access the eggs from outside the coop is so freaking cool! This company is top notch and I would highly recommend to anyone! Thank you so much Hengear! Christopher B.

Brice, Sorry it's been several months since our purchase but you know life...busy! We love our rear rollout and so do the hens. We still to date get a few eggs on the floor of the coop but out of 16 birds, the majority are laying in the nesting box. I have not yet mounted the Autoroost but will. And of course absolutely beautiful clean eggs!

Our Hengear nest must be a older version so we had to make it fit but it did not take long to get it going and it kept the nest a lot cleaner. Before we installed the Hengear we had to go close the nest in the evening and get back early morning to reopen, now it does it automatically and hasn't missed opening so far.
